ACL has officially launched its new fleet of transatlantic combination Container/Roll‐on Roll‐off (CONRO) vessels in spectacular style, following the Christening of the Atlantic Sea, by HRH The Princess Royal in Liverpool. Crowds lined Liverpool’s iconic waterfront to witness the official Christening Ceremony of the Atlantic Sea. This was the first Royal Christening on the Mersey since 1960, ahead of a dramatic fireworks display and departure.
HRH Princess Anne will visit Liverpool October 20 to Christen the Atlantic Sea, at the city’s cruise line terminal, in what will be the biggest maritime spectacle. The historic Christening is the first by a member of the Royal Family on the Mersey for more than half a century. It will take place starting at 11:00pm. Viewing will be available along Princes Parade and the Pier Head. Later in the day the ship will move into the Mersey for a fireworks display before she departs.
